At the assembly, the IWHS Students of the Month led the crowd in saying the Pledge of Allegiance and Abby Tindle powerfully sang the Star Spangled Banner. Rodger Bennett gave a moving speech about the value of a soldier/veteran and Hayden Carmichael recited Flanders Field. Mrs. Deb Talbert explained the meaning and symbolism associated with the folding of the American flag. Both the IWHS Chorus and Band evoked patriotism through their performances. The Auxiliary was also proudly in attendance.
Thanks to Mrs. Mary Kay Ballard for coordinating this special event and Mr. Zach Monk for creating the slideshow that featured photos of veterans related to the students and staff! - Nov 11, 2025 · Iroquois West Community Unit School District 10Since Yesterday was an E-Learning Day, UES and IWMS would like to re-invite you out to an assembly honoring our Veterans...Since Yesterday was an E-Learning Day, UES and IWMS would like to re-invite you out to an assembly honoring our Veterans.
